Spin Swirl - Advanced Entry

10 tries!! Throughout this challenge, all I kept hearing in my head was Lucie Kantorová saying “the spin swirl never disappoints!” I tried and failed so many times on this challenge, but at the time of submission, I honestly could not make up my mind as to which soap to enter and even though they were “failures,” they all came out so pretty. It’s true that this technique does not fail you!

Try #1

This was using a premade formula that I was hoping would be fluid enough, but it was not. However, I loved the colors and in my next few tries, I was hoping to get the same color mix but wasn’t entirely successful.

Try #1 - Middle Part

This is not another try but the middle cut of the first try. Totally different result.

Try #2

I can explain. I had made some oil batches that I wanted to use, and I was hoping that the formulas would be fluid enough for this challenge, but they were impossible to work with. So, here we are.

Try #3

This was from the same pre-made oil batch that was not suited at all for this technique.

Try #4

This formula was great. I was hoping to get the same results from the colors of my first try, but they came out differently. Plus, lesson learned, plan out the proportions more accurately…or better yet, actually plan them.

Try #5

This one has no explanation. It was poorly planned, bad formula and just ended up being a random swirl.

Try #6

This one was the biggest failure, but the one that yielded the prettiest surprise (in my opinion).

Try #7

Good formula, working to get a super deep red.

Try #8

I’ll have a lot of soap to donate soon.

Try #9

This one has no explanation. Formula failed me unexpectedly, sort of, and I ended up having to do an emergency pour.

Try #10

This was almost my favorite, but as my formula failed me in the last part of the pour, I had to shift gears and do a one pot pour and hope for the best.

I could keep doing this challenge forever because I really loved it and it was so much fun mixing colors and discovering what would come out of each try.
